ROBIN KARSON AWARDED HONORARY MEMBERSHIP IN ASLA
The American Society of Landscape Architects has recognized LALH founder and executive director Robin Karson with one of the highest honors the organization awards to those in allied professions. Through her founding of LALH, the nation’s only nonprofit dedicated to the publication of books on landscape architecture, and her own foundational scholarship, Karson has literally created a library of American landscape history. Her work, which includes the ten-volume ASLA reprint series and VIEW, the only annual journal of its kind, has had a profound impact on the field, both in terms of educating the public about the importance of the American landscape and in preserving historical landscapes throughout the country. Since its establishment in 1899, ASLA has only granted 215 individuals honorary membership.
