Manuscript Submissions
For more than thirty years, Library of American Landscape History has published award-winning books that expand awareness of the American landscape. LALH books range from biographies of American landscape architects to studies of cultural landscapes at all scales, from gardens to national parks. We focus on the history of environmental landscape design; the history of urban, state, and national park design; Olmsted studies; and the history of women involved in landscape design, gardening, and advocacy.
Richly illustrated, thoughtfully designed, and beautifully produced, LALH publications are supported by individuals and charitable foundations to ensure exceptional quality at affordable prices. We vigorously promote our books through various media, including VIEW, our annual magazine. LALH also produces a documentary film series, North America by Design, on topics related to our books.
LALH welcomes queries from potential authors. Manuscript submissions and questions about the submission process should be addressed to Sarah Allaback . You will typically receive a response within two weeks.
