NEW PANEL EXHIBITION OPENS AT UMASS AMHERST

In February, the LALH traveling exhibition, A Genius for Place, makes its debut in a new format of free-standing panels at the W. E. B. Du Bois Library, University of Massachusetts Amherst. The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, runs from February 3 through May 10.

A public opening reception on March 5, 4:30-6:00 p.m., includes remarks by Robin Karson, author and curator, and Carol Betsch, photographer. Copies of the new paperback edition of the companion book,  A Genius for Place, will be available for purchase and signing at the reception. (For visitor information, call 413-545-0284.)

Like the original museum exhibition of the same title, which toured in museums nationwide between 2000 and 2012, the panel version features seven American estate landscapes designed by significant landscape architects during the first four decades of the twentieth century.
