Library of American Landscape History is the leading publisher of books that advance the study and practice of American landscape architecture—from gardens and parks to city plans. LALH books and films educate the public, motivating stewardship of significant places and the environment, and they inspire new designs that connect people with nature.
Founded in 1992, LALH is the only nonprofit organization dedicated to publishing in the field of American landscape history. Our books are informative, engaging, and priced affordably, thanks to the generous gifts of our supporters.
LALH texts are written by the foremost historians in the field. Richly illustrated, they appeal to general readers as well as specialists. LALH touring exhibitions reach large and diverse audiences in museums, galleries, and botanical gardens across the nation. LALH documentary films are posted on lalh.org and YouTube, shown in university classrooms throughout the United States, screened at special events, and used at public landscapes to educate visitors.
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to support our good work.
LALH is a 501(c)(3) organization, recognized by the U.S. government as a publicly supported charity.
