OLMSTED DOCUMENTARY PREMIERES IN MASSACHUSETTS

Frederick Law Olmsted: Designing America, a long-awaited documentary about America’s most influential landscape architect, premieres next month in Olmsted’s adopted home state of Massachusetts. LALH Executive Director Robin Karson and LALH Vice President Ethan Carr consulted on the one-hour film for filmmakers Larry Hott and Diane Garey of Florentine Films/Hott Productions, which coproduced it with WNED-TV, Buffalo/Toronto. Hott Productions also produces the LALH film series, North America by Design.
Viewers can watch Frederick Law Olmsted at three premiere screenings:
• Northampton, Mass.—April 13, 4:00 p.m. at the Academy of Music (274 Main St., 413-584-9032 x 105), sponsored by WGBY-Channel 57, Springfield. A discussion with the producers and landscape historian Ethan Carr, LALH vice president, follows the screening. Free and open to the public.
• Boston, Mass.—April 23, 8:00 p.m. at the Museum of Fine Arts (465 Huntington Ave, 617-369-3907), sponsored by the Emerald Necklace Conservancy. $11 General Admission. $9 for MFA members and Emerald Necklace Conservancy donors. Information on how to get tickets here.
• Buffalo, N.Y.—April 26, (time TBA) at WNED-TV (Horizons Plaza, 140 Lower Tce., 716-845-7000), sponsored by WNED-TV. Free and open to the public.
