Thanks to generous LALH supporters, funds were raised to purchase the family papers of Lockwood and Elizabeth de Forest. The archive was recently donated to the Architecture and Design Archives at University of California Santa Barbara, significantly expanding the collection.

“Thanks to the Library of American Landscape History and their successful fundraising campaign, scholars and designers alike will now have the opportunity to delve more deeply into the life and work of this dynamic couple. . . . Thanks too to all the generous donors who contributed to the campaign and made it possible for UCSB to acquire the archives.”

—Ann de Forest, granddaughter of Lockwood and Elizabeth
